What did I love about this movie? Having the opportunity to reminisce my familiarity with the never ending Burton and Taylor’s romance, as I was a teenager. Back in my days, this couple was today’s equivalent of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in terms of media coverage. Too lame? What about Rihanna and Chris Brown for some added drama? Better? Anyway, seeing Taylor once again also reminded me of the fact that my own mother had that quintessential grace in her good old days that men from her own generation used to describe as “the one who could make the traffic stop”.

As for Helena Bonham Carter, I never quite noticed the beauty of this woman’s face, until now! The movie takes us back to the last couple of years before Burton’s death when they got together to partake in a play and they struggled because the love one had for the other was as undeniable as their incapacity to outlive themselves. Good performances but not an outstanding film.
