I must admit I only knew Melanie Lynskey from her role as Rose, Charlie Sheen’s adorable stalker in Two and a Half Men. And not because I haven’t seen other movies in which she has participated like Coyote Ugly, Sweet Home Alabama, Up in the Air and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Quoting her, “You always see those movies that have amazing casts, and it’s funny to be in one of them. It’s a list of all these fantastic people –and, oh, me as well.”

This is a sweet movie, a chick flick even, but also a movie full of hidden lessons for life. My favorite is the mental confusion of thinking we must have done something wrong to deserve what is happening to us, when, most likely, that something we have done is precisely what is granting us the opportunity of getting out of a situation that had us settling for less than we deserve.
