Julianne Moore is one of my favorite female actors; one a bit unappreciated not just by the Academy but by the public in general. In this film she once again delivers a complicated character and excels at portraying all the vulnerabilities of a person diagnosed with a debilitating illness undergoes while trying to reconcile the fact that an impending death would have been a better and swift prognosis in comparison. The rest of the cast also delivers great performances while exposing us to the different reactions you’ll find in a family that is dealing with such situation.
Some of the reviews say that this movie was a bit too painful to watch. It is not. Painful was to experience my own reaction to the possibility of such dilemma. Robin Williams came to my mind and I perfectly understood his point of view, knowing that I would have too, most likely, done the exact same thing.
